Inaugural Lucas Foundation Gala
DAYTONA BEACH, FL - The Inaugural Harold V. Lucas, Jr. Foundation Gala (a.k.a. Lucas Fall Ball) will be held at six o’clock in the evening on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Plaza Resort & Spa, 600 N. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32118. This year’s event will be a semi-formal attire dinner and dance, where we will present a Community Icon Award to the following trailblazers: Daytona Beach Police Chief, Mr. Jakari Young; Mrs. Teresa Rand, Rand Consulting, LLC (also former President & CEO of Volusia Flagler YMCA); and The Honorable Joan Anthony, 7th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida Judge. The event emcee will be Mr. Lynn Thompson, Lead Consultant of LynnVisions, LLC (also former Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics at Bethune-Cookman University).
The Harold V. Lucas, Jr. Foundation is a Daytona Beach based not-for-profit formed in 2020 and the Lucas Fall Ball will be our annual fundraiser to help fulfill the Foundation’s vision to “Honor the Past, Enhance the Present, and Contribute to the Future.” Our namesake, and visionary leader, Harold V. Lucas, Jr., is a lifelong resident of Daytona Beach, Korean War Veteran, and former educator, coach, and college administrator. As he reflects over his 89 years of life, he is excited to know that The Foundation will carry on his legacy of education, service, athletics, and contribution perpetually. We hope that you can join us for this “Moment in History.”
