HONORING THE PAST

Harold V. Lucas, Jr. Memorabilia Display

Mr. Lucas has collected a great number of historical pictures and documents pertinent to the Daytona Beach area, Bethune-Cookman College, and the Lucas family. Some of which date back to the late 1800s, including letters from Dr. Bethune. This memorabilia will be displayed at The Lucas Center, located in the Midtown Daytona Beach area.

ENHANCING THE PRESENT

Quarterly Community Events

Every Sunday, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, who was keen on civil and human rights, community development, women, youth and education, hosted community meetings with an inclusive and diverse audience from different socioeconomic and racial backgrounds.

In homage to Dr. Bethune’s Community Meetings, the Foundation will host quarterly community events in the heart of Midtown. The purpose of the events will be to contribute to the cultural advancement of the Midtown Daytona Beach community while upholding the Foundation’s mission.
